The beloved figure skater battled breast cancer, endured the death of her ex-husband, Dean Paul Martin, declared bankruptcy and divorced her second husband after learning that he cheated on her. She’s also battled osteoarthritis and depression. Only time will tell if the bubbly sports icon, who captured the nation’s heart at the 1976 Olympics, can recapture her winning glory. Whatever happens, she plans to take it in stride. “I’ve kind of made all the dumb moves and falls and embarrassing things in my life in front of a live audience,” she said. “So if I do that again, it happens ...but I’m going to try not to do that!”
