DESPERATE to jump-start his music career, JOHN TRAVOLTA cornered his idol BARBRA STREISAND at the Oscars and begged her to do an album with him.
The 59-year-old “Grease” star – who’s been a huge fan of Babs since his 20s – is trying to bounce back from his train wreck of a Christmas CD and much-maligned video he did with Olivia Newton-John last year.
The album’s single, a duet he sang with Olivia called “I Think You Might Like It,” was widely panned by fans and critics. And its cheesy promotional video was targeted for special ridicule.
It features a waxy-looking Travolta with close-cropped, jet-black hair landing a plane in time to meet Olivia for Christmas. Bloggers blasted it as creepy and bizarre.
One critic cracked that it has “the production values of a car-dealer commercial.”
