A witness in the DREW PETERSON bombshell murder trial's damning testimony.

As prosecutors try to prove former cop Peterson murdered his 3rd wife Kathleen Savio in 2004, a former co-worker, Bolingbrook, Ill., police officer James Coughlin took the stand.

Officer Coughlin testified  he met Peterson at the Will County courthouse mere weeks before Savio was discovered dead in her bathtub.

Coughlin told jurors Peterson made a reference to his estranged wife Savio getting all his money in a divorce settlement.

Peterson added that his "life would be easier" if Savio was dead, Coughlin testified.

Savio's older sister, Anna Doman, also testified that a "scared and upset" Savio visited her six weeks before the death and said Peterson had threatened her.
