ONE DAY AT A TIME star BONNIE FRANKLIN has died at 69.
Her family announced that Bonnie’s passing was due to complications from pancreatic cancer.
Bonnie Gail Franklin was born in Santa Monica on Jan. 6, 1944.
Franklin was a multifaceted performer and working in both comedic and dramatic roles and performing in nightclubs.
By the 1970s, Franklin was a theater vet who had earned a Tony nom for her perf on Broadway in “Applause” when she was offered a role by groundbreaking TV producer Norman Lear.
“One Day at a Time” told the story of Ann Romano, a divorced woman in her 30s raising two teenagers (Mackenzie Phillips and Valerie Bertinelli) and building a new life for herself in her hometown of Indianapolis.
Bonnie was nominated for an Emmy in 1982 and twice nominated for Golden Globes for her realistic portrayal of Romano.
