That’s the latest shocking twist in the explosive family feud that the 15-year-old actress triggered when she tried to divorce her parents.
As The ENQUIRER has reported, a judge awarded temporary guardianship of Ariel – who plays brainy Alex Dunphy on the ABC sitcom – to her sister Shanelle Workman-Gray after a judge was told the teen’s mother abused her physically and emotionally.
“I spoke to Ariel recently, and she sounded depressed,” a source close to the family told The ENQUIRER. “When I asked her what was wrong, she said, ‘I want to move back in with my mother, but Shanelle won’t let me.’
“It’s horrible! Ariel is being held like a hostage.”
