Former DISNEY “Pollyanna” star HAYLEY MILLS claims she beat breast cancer after quitting chemo because the treatment was “killing me.”
Hayley, the star of such Disney classics as “The Parent Trap’’ and “That Darn Cat”, said she was rocked by the diagnosis in 2008.
“it was an enormous shock. Suddenly, I looked out at the world as if I'd never seen it before. ''
“Everything felt clearer and sharper. And when you hear that diagnosis, you realize, ‘Now I'm going to find out what I'm actually made of.’’’
After surgery, she began chemo but lasted only three months on the traditional post-op treatment.
“It made me feel awful. I was more frightened of the chemo than the cancer,’’ Mills, 66, revealed. “I could feel it draining and killing me. I felt I was dying.”
