Whitney Houston’s distraught mother and daughter lost their fight to stop a biopic about the late drug-ravaged star, despite enlisting actor Kevin Costner and music mogul Clive Davis to their cause.
Cissy Houston, 81, contacted Kevin, Whitney’s co-star in “The Bodyguard,” and Clive, her lifelong mentor, to derail the Lifetime movie scheduled to premiere Jan. 17, insiders said.
“Cissy begged both Kevin and Clive to stop the movie, which she believes is going to cast Whitney in a bad light,” said a source.
Whitney’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina, joined in the fight to stop the film, titled, “Whitney.”
“She and Cissy are completely united in this,” said a Houston family insider.
Meanwhile, a family friend said Bobbi Kristina feels it’s too soon to tell the troubled diva’s story.
