John Travolta and wife Kelly Preston have been at Kirstie Alley’s side in the wake of a horrific family tragedy that claimed the life of a loved one.
Nick Trela, 23, had been dating the star’s daughter Lillie, 20, for four years. The two were planning their wedding when Nick was killed in a Nov. 19 motorcycle accident in L.A.
“The whole family loved Nick,” a friend said. “They’re all devastated.”
At a memorial service for Nick, John and Kelly offered their support to Kirstie and her ex-husband Parker Stevenson.
Sources said Parker was permitted to attend the ceremony at the Hollywood Scientology Center despite having left the church when he and Kirstie divorced in 1997.
The pal added: “John and Kelly know what it’s like to lose a young family member – and they dropped everything to be there for Kirstie and the family.”
