Angelina Jolie’s WW2 flick “Unbroken” ignites conflagration of controversy – in Japan!
Even after Jolie reportedly handed in an “art house” cut of her directorial effort, the social media buzz in the land of the rising sun was decidedly negative, AP reported.
The film depicts a U.S. Olympic runner who escapes from a B-24 crash in the Pacific, survives in a raft for 47 days and then is captured and tortured at a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp during World War II.
Japanese bloggers are calling for a boycott of the biopic while the Far East Twitter-verse is saying to ban Angelina Jolie – period.
Fanning the flames is a reputed reference to cannibalism in the film’s basis.
