Celine Dion is worth a whopping $720 million – but all the money in the world can’t restore her cancer-stricken husband René Angélil’s good health.
Now the ailing 72-year-old is stepping aside after three decades of managing his superstar wife’s career, The National ENQUIRER has learned.
“In a sad move that signals René may be fading, he and Celine decided it’s best he no longer make her every career move,” a source told The ENQUIRER.
“It’s painful to both of them because René has been her manager since he discovered her as a teenager in Montreal.”
As The ENQUIRER has reported, René secretly underwent surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from his throat just before Christmas.
“It came at the worst time for Celine, right before the holidays,” said the source. “She had to put on a brave face for the sake of their three boys.”
