The 55-year-old country legend surprised Parton on May 31 when he made a rare public appearance to attend her show at the WinStar Casino in Thackerville, Okla. – and had a long backstage huddle with her, insiders told The ENQUIRER.
“He told Dolly he feels lucky to be alive and that he wants to go back to doing what he does best – singing,” revealed a close source. “But he’s worried he’s washed up and that country fans have forgotten about him.
“Dolly told Randy, ‘If I had a nickel for every time people counted me out, I could build another Dollywood.’ She promised Randy she would help him out any way she can and even invited him to tour with her.”
