SHOWBIZ legend Patty Duke has become an ordained minister – just so she can officiate at gay weddings!
“As an ordained minister I want to marry all the gay couples in our country,” the Oscar-winning actress tweeted recently.
The “Valley of the Dolls” star paid $60 to become a minister with the Universal Life Church through an online program. After filling out a short form, she became certified to perform weddings, baptisms and funerals.
The 67-year-old, who starred in “The Patty Duke Show” in the ’60s while still in her teens, continues to act, having recently appeared on “Glee” as the partner of real-life lesbian Meredith Baxter. The two women played a gay couple mentoring gay characters Blaine and Kurt when one of them goes shopping for a ring.
BUT her busy schedule may be taking a toll on her health.
