You can’t keep a good man down – especially if that man is country music legend Mickey Gilley!
The 78-year-old “Room Full of Roses” singer tells The ENQUIRER he’s feeling “better than ever” despite a horrifying accident that left him paralyzed nearly five years ago. In fact, he’s doing so well that he’s back onstage performing in Branson, Mo., and playing tour dates out on the road!
On July 5, 209, MICKEY tripped while helping a friend move furniture and struck the back of his neck. He was unconscious for two days, and doctors at first feared his injuries might prove to be fatal.
“When I awoke, I was in a complete panic because I couldn’t move anything,” he told The ENQUIRER at the time. “I thought, ‘Am I going to be like this for the rest of my life?’ ”
Thankfully, that answer turned out to be “no.”
