
Actress Kate O’Mara– best known for her role as Cassandra Morrell on TV blockbuster “Dynasty” – passed away in nursing home in Sussex, England on Sunday. O’Mara was 74 at the time of her passing.
In a statement from O’Mara’s agent, Phil Belfield, it was revealed that she died after a “short illness”. Belfield added that “a shining star has gone out.”.
O’Mara began her television career in the 1960s, and became a household name in the 1980s on the legendary series “Dynasty”, where she played opposite Joan Collins, as Alexis Colby's scheming sister Cassandra "Caress" Morrell.
But O’Mara was no one-trick pony, with a rich career that included appearances in the original run of British series “Doctor Who,” the BBC drama “Howards' Way” and Britcom “Absolutely Fabulous”.
