Rolling Stones legend Keith Richards is penning a children’s book!
During spare moments on the band’s Far East tour, the 70-year-old musical wiz is writing “Gus & Me: The Story of My Granddad and My First Guitar”, due for release Sept. 9 by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers.
In the kiddie creation, Richards writes about his childhood relationship with his maternal grandfather, Theodore August “Gus” Dupree, a jazz musician who encouraged him to take up the guitar.
Richards’ main collaborator on the book is his own 28- year-old daughter, Theodora Dupree Richards, named for his influential grandpa.
“I have just become a grandfather for the fifth time, so I know what I’m talking about,” says Richards.
