After canceling several shows due to treatment for a leg infection, it was reported that the comedy kingpin was suffering from necrotizing fasciitis aka flesh-eating disease.
Rickles underwent three surgical debridements including removal of the infected tissue and a skin graft.
The life-saving ops kept Don off his feet for awhile.
His rep confirmed that thanks to the fact that his condition was diagnosed quickly, Rickles underwent surgery successfully .
“(Don) has been rehabbing the leg, is back on his feet and is doing wonderfully,” the rep said.
“He is looking forward to be back on the road after the first of the year.”
