JIMMY FALLON, poised to rake in zillions as late-night king of “The Tonight Show,” remembered a fellow struggling comic who’d gifted him with $100 when he set out to find fame and fortune in Hollywood years ago, so he tracked the guy down to pay back his generosity – by giving him his big showbiz break with a “Tonight” booking.
“But Jimmy was stunned when the dude explained he’d given up showbiz entirely – and was now doing carpentry work,” said an insider.
“He told Jimmy he’d love to stop by and see the show, and Jimmy told him, ‘ANYTIME!’ – but added that if the guy ever changed his mind and wanted to appear, his offer still stood!”
