Fast fast relief for jury who had to endure nauseating and graphic evidence to convict a carpenter who admitted chopping up his roommate and then stuffing a thousand teeny tiny remains into bleach bottles to hide his heinous crime.
New York prosecutors charged that Sergey Mamonov, 50, killed Aleksandr Zilbergleyt, 55, on March 2012, ending a feud between the two middle aged roommates who shared a Sheepshead Bay apartment in Brooklyn, N.Y. for six months.
Testifying in Brooklyn Supreme Court, Mamonov claimed his nemesis died by falling “accidentally” when the two grappled in the kitchen they shared.
"It was by necessity," the ex-Soviet soldier told a stunned jury in excruciating detail his efforts to dispose of the corpse.
